For his Rajnikant-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan sci-fi trilingual, Robot (Hindi)/ Enthiran (Tamil and Telugu), director Shankar has collaborated with Hollywood’s Stan Winston Studio for visual effects and make-up. About 40 per cent of the Rs 150 crore budget was spent on the SFX.

Shankar has used animatronics technology, seen in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park trilogy, for Rajnikant’s Robot.
